The 2025 A. C. Gilbert Heritage Society National Convention took place on July 10-12 in historic York, Pennsylvania. Our hosts were Gary and Lisa Treible. This part of Pennsylvania, often referred to as “Pennsylvania Dutch Country,” offered a rich selection of entertaining, informative, and recreational activities. The convention show and banquet were held at the Wyndham Garden York. Convention activities began early Thursday afternoon, July 10, with a brief orientation at the hotel and visits to several local businesses. On Friday, the group visited the York History Center to explore the rich history of York from the Revolution, through the Civil War, to the present day. The museum featured technological advancements associated with York, including the York Manufacturing Corliss steam refrigerant compressor, which was the prototype for the Erector “Giant Power Plant” model. Other areas of interest included antique automobiles, farm equipment, and various industrial machines. The Convention Show and evening banquet took place on Saturday, July 12 at the Wyndham Hotel.
