I posted some photos on the ACGHS Facebook page. They had been on the former Girders and Gears site, which used thumbnail (400 x 320) sized photos, so they aren’t great. I built it around 25 years ago and don’t recall having too many problems with build; just follow the instructions.
The mast tower swings/pivots at the base. The A49 has a drum with string to raise/lower a block and tackle. The block and tackle attach to a strip that has string at the ends that run through pulleys, and up to a pivoting support frame. The support frame basically acts like holding your hand on the side of the tower to control its decent/rise.
